Trouble finding train fares!
I need to estimate train fares to and from various European cities (Munich,
Garmisch, Luzern, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Innsbruck, Salzburg). Basically I
want to arrange these cities in a loop. For instance, I use the site
www.bahn.de, but more often than not it tells me the price is unavailable.
Makes it tough to plan. Also, when it does show the price, it is pretty
steep, just one way. I think Munich to Luzern was around 90 EURO! A 2 week
multination Europass is something like $500 and I am wondering if that is
the way to go (does that mean you don't spend anything extra - you just pay
for the pass?). I know in an earlier post, someone said with all the cheap
train fares available, it isn't worth it to get a pass. But so far my
research is not indicating cheap fares...
If anyone knows of a better site for querying train fares, please let me
know. Most of the sites are aweful, because they assume you know any
intermediate stops between your two destinations...
thanks,
brian

Re: Trouble finding train fares!
Eurail should offer the best deal if you are doing plenty of travelling.
Alternatively, is stick to a particular region to do it throughly. Usually
there are special local fares that incorporate buses, rail, tram, etc in an
overall price.
If you insist, then, http://www.eurail.com is the best offer.
