Predefinito A Nanny State.

The British are contemplating garbage collection every two weeks to
encourage recycling, according to the Telegraph:

I thought I was a card-carrying liberal (ACLU and Democrat) but I am
thankful that, even if it is expensive, we contract individually in my
neighborhood with garbage companies. I do recycle but my garbage is
collected twice a week. What it would smell like after two weeks I don't
want to imagine.

Just to bring you up to date....

The government is proposing some big funding [£500M is being suggested] to
Local Authorities by way of incentives to keep weekly collections.....
Weekly collection is a big 'Conservative' ideal (philosophy even) that they
wish to keep up....It's becoming a bit of a political football......The
problem is, the government have made funding cuts running to billions of
pounds to local authorities so finding this money now whilst still allowing
social care cuts (amongst other things) is...well, ironic really!
