Predefinito Moselkern (Germany) & Burg Eltz castle

I have read many favourable reviews about the Burg Eltz near
Moselkern and would like to visit this historic castle. However I am
too old to hire a car and would have to travel by train from and back
to Koblenz. Although I could manage the hike one way from the
Moselkern train station, a return hike might be a bit much. Does
anyone know if it would be possible to get a taxi from the train
station or if there is any alternative way for me to visit Burg Eltz.
Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

I know nothing about this from my own experience, but I tried some web
searches and found people talking about it in other forums. There are
no taxis based in Moselkern, but there are taxis based in Löf (in case
of character-set problems, that's Lof with an umlaut), which is about
two stops toward Koblenz on the train, or about 5 miles from Moselkern.

So you (or your hotel) could telephone for a taxi from Löf and have it
pick you up at Moselkern station. (Someone says it will cost about $25.)
Or of course you could get off the train in Löf and find a taxi there.

Here are a couple of the pages I looked at:

Good luck with your trip.
