Predefinito Looking for self guided walking tours in northern Italy

My wife and I would like to spend a week next June walking in Northern
Italy. I have checked all the websites I know about that offer self guided
walking tours (they move your luggage for you) but no luck so far. Many
offer tours in Tuscany and/or Umbria but we have been there before. Does
anyone have a suggestion you can offer?

TIA.

Have you asked www.atg-oxford.com? They seem to have a variety of areas
in this year's tours.

Thanks for the reference. I just checked their website. While they do have a
number of self guided tours (they call them "footloose"), all of their tours
are in north/central Italy (Tuscany or Umbria) or southern Italy. They do
have a self guided tour in the Cinque Terre area but we have been there
before. We are looking for tours in the lakes region and the foothills of
the mountains in the general area south of the border with Switzerland (in
the vicinity of Turin or Milan). We have done a lot of hiking in Switzerland
so we thought we would try walks in northern Italy.

Here are some walking tour companies in Northern Italy for the
Dolomites.

www.vangoghtours.com/italy_walking.html
hiking-vacations.gordonsguide.com/dolomites/tripdetails.cfm?
tripID=7595

And some stories on Northern Italy. A lot of Dolomite walking tours
start from Lake Garda and around Lake d'Iseo is quite beautiful.

Hope this is helpful

I think you were looking for a group that provided logistical support,
weren't you? Why don't you contact Vangoghtours and tell them what
you're looking for. They may be able to arrange it.

If you really want to do it yourself, there is a Lonely Planet Guide
called "Walking in Italy" that has lots of information about specific
itineraries.
