And the first thing the flight did was going into a steep descent
(standard procedure I assume), and some woman started babbling in
Indonesian. I think the pain managed to dull the extreme fear I should
have been feeling!

Not sure how far , seems to take around 1hr by bus. www.graahundbus.dk
looks to be what you need .
Yes the bridge is a pretty direct link for both bus and train from
Malmo and has change the travel options . Apparantly Danes do their
shopping in Sweden as well as commute to work from Malmo as its
cheaper.
For info the Malmo card gives 20% off train journies to Copenhagen and
as it is a very short journey. 21mins from Malmo to Copenhagen, it
seems people stay there and save on hotels . Worth considering .
Suggest also you register with Ryanair for news and you will get the
offers.
Warning think of Ryanair as a bus, there are definatly no frills, no
booked seats, so check in early as the first 65 checked in board first
after those with young kids, buy any food before boarding, if it goes
wrong you are on your own and could be stranded awaiting another
flight.
However I've taken 12 return flights over the last two years only one
was a little late, the rest arrived early by as much as 30 mins (all
the shedules seem to build in the extra time)
