In my experience, there are some places, even in Rome, that don't
charge you extra to sit down, especially if you're a regular
customer. When we stayed in an apartment in Rome for a month, we
used to frequent a bar just north of the Campo de' Fiore for
breakfast. After having been there a few times, we were always
invited to sit down and were told it wouldn't cost extra.

In my experience, there are some places, even in Rome, that don't
charge you extra to sit down, especially if you're a regular
customer. When we stayed in an apartment in Rome for a month, we
used to frequent a bar just north of the Campo de' Fiore for
breakfast. After having been there a few times, we were always
invited to sit down and were told it wouldn't cost extra.
