Yes. And you see that's the problem. We have no summer here in
Britain. But the other problem is that I have very white skin and burn
easily, rather than tan. So if we did have any hot sun, would I lie
under it sunbathing? No way. And I'd rather not have skin cancer
either, thanks. Hence... fake spray tan will be fine, on this one
occasion.

Which is why I asked if anyone knows of any tanning salons that exist
in Istanbul? I'd rather get one when I arrive so I get more usage out
of it, than one I got done a few days earlier in England.

Thanks

I don't recall if it was spray or lights, but I have seen a tanning
parlour there, last Christmas. Probably in Kadikoy (something like
that *would* be in Kadikoy). My mind was somewhat boggled by the
concept.

The summer weather was in the week we spent near Newcastle under Lyme, it was
the first week of June and not the end of May. In Whitby the following week the
weather was grim.

It's hot and tropical rainy season weather in Zuid Holland. We are having a
series of thunderstorms that traveled north from the Bay of Biscay. Somebody
died as a result of being struck by lightning on the beach on Texel yesterday.

Like you, I have light skin and burn easily. My solution is not to
sunbathe, and be content with my skin colour. Seems an easy enough thing
to do, and I travel to hotter, sunnier countries quit a bit.
