Question re French Cuisine
This may seem like a silly question, but do the French use pasta much
in their cuisine? I'm leaving for Paris on Sunday, and I am sure I
will be spoiled for choice as far as food is concerned. But in my
research (online restaurant/bistro guides, various guides on France) I
see little, if any, mention of pasta. So I just checked my "French
at a Glance" language reference that plan to take with me. It's got
about 35 pages dedicated to food and eating out, and there's not a
mention of pasta. They have sections on egg dishes, cheese courses,
appetizers, soups, meat dishes, fish dishes, desserts, even
seasonings, but not even a word for pasta. What is the French word
for pasta? In any event, I'm sure I'll be just fine without it, but I
was a bit surprised by this.
