Long gone. Even 25 years ago it was nothing like the real thing.

The oldest Indonesian restaurant in Leiden is in an alley between Breestraat and
the Pieterskerk. It opened in the 1940s. What it serves is more Chinese than
anything and nothing like the real thing. That doesn't mean that the food isn't
appetising. AFAIR it is run by the daughter of the founder. You can judge what
they sell by the menu http://www.woo-ping-leiden.nl/

The website contains HTML errors that stop it working fully with Firefox, IE and
Chrome

Last occasion was about 18 months ago in De Lier, near den Haag.
It was a perfectly ordinary (but reasonably smart) 'pseudo' Indonesian when I hosted some 20 people for a very fulfilling 'banquet' (not a rijstafel).
It came to around 16 euro per head (the drinks bill was the same again!).
A curry with side dishes would be at least that, probably more, in our Surrey village.

Much nearer to Delft :-)
This one https://www.eet.nu/de-lier/china-garden ?

16 Euro/head is very cheap by Dutch standards. A main course costs more in most
places. A main course in what is supposed to be the best Indian restaurant in
the area in North Staffordshire, where my daughter lives is well under £10, OTOH
houses cost a fraction in N Staffordshire of the price of houses in Surrey. A
good three bed roomed semi-detached house costs under £150K
Makes one wonder why there isn't a mass migration to leafy N Staffordshire :-)

You're telling me.
I've just moved (within the same town) to a small 3-bedroom detached bungalow for £400,000.
You tell me why I don't move to Staffs - or, more especially, Spain! :-))

Zuid Holland isn't any cheaper than that.

For some reason I thought you lived in Harwich.

Nah - deepest Surrey. Apparently the most expensive for property in the UK except for central London. :-(

I guess Surreyman was a clue :-)

The bungalow is cheap by Zuid Holland standards. There's a property boom here
prices have reached 2003 level. Some years ago the Dutch government killed the
housing market by making mortgage payments not tax deductible.

I can scarcely believe that. It's some time since I looked at house prices (around De Lier & Naaldwijk, for instance) but they were then very cheap reSurrey. But most people (I know, anyway) seem to rent, and the current rental prices also still appear cheap.
Interesting.
Mortgage tax relief disappeared in UK a million years ago!
