escape
The election results are in. i really want to move to Germany. Politics
strike me as more rational there.

I don't know about Germany.
Merkel is trying to deliver a balanced budget, probably leading to a
recession, because they care more about the budget than building/fixing
needed infrastructure to stimulate the economy.
Germans are preventing the ECB from easing, which would help the entire
EU, because they don't like the idea of helping the latin nations.
One pundit calls Merkel the Herbert Hoover of Europe.
But others have said she recognizes the need for stimulus and easing
monetary policy but her hands are tied because of the German electorate.

Only because you don't live in Germany.

Feel free to donate your savings to the latin nations :-)
BTW, Cameron is refusing to pay the 2 billion the UK owes the EU.

Yet the Germans don't mind selling them their cars and other export
items.
Or lending them money with their banks.
They imposed austerity so that the PIIGS can't default on those loans
and screw over the German banks.

That's probably true - I've read about neo-nazis being on the increase.
(Although the sheer triumph of the wealthy 1% over us ordinary
middle-class Americans is hardly encouraging, here.)

But not really in politics. The few extreme right-wing parties never score
more than around 2% at elections (except for some local elections in the
east of the country, were they sometimes score more).
There are some Neo-Nazis though when it comes down to football-hooligans.
But that is not only a German problem, you'll find that in Italy, England
and Holland as well.

Frank

So are the Dutch until they have received and verified all the figures used to
calculate the amount due and used the figures to calculate the amount due and
reached the same amount.
